John is a graduate of the University of Toronto and has been serving the community of Oshawa for over 42 years. John enjoys kiteboarding, cycling and Formula 1 racing. Above all, John enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Before her career as a dentist, Dr. Stephanie Shum worked as a teacher, which was where she developed a passion for working with children.
That passion has carried over into her dental practice. Dr. Shum’s warm demeanour and vivid story telling make dental visits a comfortable and calming experience for all her patients but especially children. Prior to joining our clinic Dr. Shum practiced in Brooklin, and Whitby where she continues to hold her part-time position as head of the dental department at Ontario Shores Hospital Centre. Dr. Shum is looking forward to working with patients at Maxwell Heights Dental to help them establish healthy and confident smiles.
She completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery with distinction at the University of Western Ontario, where she received the crown and bridge award from the Toronto Academy of Dentistry. Dr. Grace has built her practice with an emphasis on compassionate and conservative dentistry. In the past, Dr. Grace has travelled to remote dental clinics in Paraguay and Brazil to provide dental care for the less fortunate.
Today, Dr. Grace remains an active participant in a volunteer organization where she provides dental care for the underprivileged in the Greater Toronto Area.
These meaningful experiences have helped Dr. Grace discover her passion for rebuilding smiles. Your smile is a reflection of who you are and is many times the first and most lasting impression you make on others.
Dr. Grace believes that everyone deserves a healthy smile and strives to work with patients to achieve that! In her spare time, Dr. Grace enjoys scuba diving, piano playing, curling up with a good book, and, above all, spending time with family and friends.
